About
Coworking in Churches is a practice built on conviction — that the church's greatest untapped resource may be the buildings it already owns, and that helping leaders steward those buildings well is a form of mission in itself.

Consultant & Coach — Synchronous Life
Kendrick Crawford has spent his career at the intersection of faith, leadership, and community development. As the founder of Synchronous Life, he works with churches, denominations, and mission-driven organizations navigating significant transitions — helping leaders develop the clarity, capacity, and courage to lead well in complex times.
His work in coworking and shared workspace grew out of a simple observation: the church has extraordinary assets — buildings, community trust, neighborhood presence — that are being dramatically underutilized. And the communities around those buildings have real, unmet needs for places to work, gather, and belong.
Coworking in Churches is his attempt to bridge that gap — not as a real estate strategy, but as a mission strategy. He believes that when churches open their doors to their neighborhoods in this way, something remarkable happens: the church rediscovers its calling as a center of community life, and the neighborhood gains infrastructure it desperately needs.
Kendrick brings to this work a background in leadership development, organizational alignment, and the theology of place and community. He has worked with congregations ranging from small rural churches to large urban institutions, and with denominational bodies across multiple traditions.
"The church has always been at its best when it opens its doors to the neighborhood. We help leaders find the courage and the clarity to do that again."
The Practice
Synchronous Life is a consulting and coaching practice focused on leadership development, organizational alignment, and human flourishing. Founded by Kendrick Crawford, it serves churches, denominations, nonprofits, and mission-driven organizations navigating change.
The name reflects a core conviction: that the most effective organizations are those whose internal life — their values, their culture, their leadership — is in sync with their external mission. When those things are aligned, remarkable things become possible.
Coworking in Churches is one expression of that work — a focused practice within Synchronous Life dedicated to the specific challenge and opportunity of church building stewardship.
What We Believe
We believe every person deserves spaces that support their dignity, their work, and their belonging. Buildings are not just infrastructure — they are environments that shape human life.
The resources entrusted to the church — including its buildings — are held in trust for the community. Faithful stewardship means asking hard questions about whether those resources are being used well.
Not every model is right for every church. We are committed to helping leaders find the path that genuinely fits their calling — not the path that looks most impressive or generates the most revenue.
Good intentions are not enough. We help organizations build models that are financially sustainable, operationally sound, and capable of serving their communities for decades, not just seasons.
A discovery call is the best first step. Tell us about your building, your community, and what you're hoping for. We'll listen.
